Jakarta Records One Million Booster Shots

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Provincial Government has given one million booster shots as of Thursday, February 17th. At 8:00 today, 1,071,769 people have gotten their third vaccine jabs.
"Right now, vaccination is still very effective in preventing Covid-19 and relieving symptoms caused by exposure to the virus," Jakarta Health Office chief Widyastuti said, Thursday.
Widyastuti said that as of today, more than 12.16 million people in Jakarta have received the first dose of vaccines, and more than 10.13 million got their second shots.
"Even though we are vaccinated, we must remain disciplined in following out health protocols, and remain alert to the transmission of the Omicron variant, which is currently increasing in Jakarta," she said in a written statement.
Jakarta is still implementing Level 3 of People's Mobility Restrictions (PPKM), as directed by the Home Affairs Minister. The city is also continuing to fast-track its vaccine rollout.
