Jokowi Urges Indonesians to Get Booster Shots

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Joko Widodo or Jokowi asks the people who have been completely vaccinated against Covid-19 to immediately get the booster shots to prevent Covid-19 transmission, especially the Omicron variant.
"For those who got the first vaccine dose, go get the second dose. And for those who completed the vaccination, immediately get the third dose or the booster vaccine. All free because this is for the safety of all of us," the president said as broadcasted on Presidential Secretary YouTube channel on Tuesday, Jan. 18.
Based on issuance HK.02.02/II/252/2022 on Covid-19 booster vaccination, the booster rollout for the public is held simultaneously in all regencies/ cities starting Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2022.
Booster vaccines can be given to the elderly regardless of the area's vaccination coverage criteria. Meanwhile, the third vaccine doses for vulnerable groups - outside of the elderly - can already be administered in areas where the first dose of vaccination is at least 70 percent of the total population and the first dose for the elderly is at least 50 percent.
Technically, the individual must register to PeduliLindungi app to get the e-ticket. Then they may come to the nearest healthcare facility to get the booster shot.
If registered as members of priority groups, but have yet to get the ticket and shcedule on the app, they can go to the nearest healthcare facility or vaccination center and bring along ID card as well as the certificate of the first and second dose vaccination.
