Jakarta Police Issue Guidebook on Crimes Against Women, Children

15 February 2022 15:44 WIB

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Metro Police Chief Gen. M Fadli Imran in launching the 'cases of violence against women and children' guidebook on Tuesday said there is a lot of personnel who do not understand how to handle such cases.

“Children and women who have become victims should receive special treatment as they are suffering from psychological harm apart from material losses,” said Imran in launching the guidebook at the Jakarta Police Headquarters on February 15.

He said that the police members must pay attention to the two aspects the victims are going through.

Imran acknowledged that there are many police members who lack the understanding of how to treat victims of violence who are children and women. He hopes it can be changed after the guidebook is distributed to Jakarta Metro Police institutions.

“I hope they will understand why crimes against women and children must be subjected to special treatment,” he added.
