TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The legal team representing Susi Air, a private carrier owned by former maritime affairs and fisheries minister Susi Pudjiastuti, visited the National Police’s Criminal Investigation Department (Bareskrim) today, Feb. 11, to file a report over the forced eviction of the planes from the hangar in Malinau, North Kalimantan.
The airline’s attorney Donal Fariz said the report was filed against Malinau Regent Wempi Wellem Mawa and Regional Secretary Ernes Silvanus.
“As of 8 p.m. (Thursday), Susi Air has not received a response from the Regent and Secretary of Malinau for the legal notice sent on Feb. 2,” said Donal on Friday, Feb. 11.
He said that if there is no response within 24 hours after the notice was delivered, Susi Air planned to report the parties mentioned with charges of criminal acts, as referred to Article 335 (1-1), Article 210, and Article 344 (a and c) to the police’s Criminal Investigation Unit. “We went to the Criminal Investigation Unit on Friday at 10 a.m.,” said Donal.
As widely reported, Susi Pudjiastuti via her Twitter account said Susi Air's plane had been evicted from the Malinau Hangar. The eviction was carried out by officers from the Malinau Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) and Malinau Regional Transportation Agency.
Susi claimed she had rented the hangar for 10 years. Due to the forced eviction, Susi Air conducted an inventory of damage and losses.
Meanwhile, based on the results of the internal evaluation by the Malinau Regency Government, Susi Air’s contract at the Malinau hangar was decided to be completed on December 31, 2021.
