TEMPO.CO, JakartaReligious Affairs Minister Yaqut Cholil Qoumas sent out Christmas 2021 greetings today, Dec. 24. He encouraged Christians to use this year's Christmas celebration as momentum to strengthen the brotherhood.

“Merry Christmas 2021. Let's continue to strengthen brotherhood,” said Yaqut in a written statement, Friday, December 24.

He also expressed appreciation of this year's Christmas celebration theme, Love of Christ Creates Brotherhood, which is relevant to the pluralistic nation of Indonesia. The theme, he added, contains a message about the importance of maintaining unity and integrity.

“Brotherhood is a universal theme that can stick the hearts of believers to maintain harmony, peace, and prosperity for the community,” Yaqut remarked.

Through Christmas celebrations, Yaqut called on Christians to realize the call to be individuals who are willing to serve with wisdom. “Christmas celebrations remind us of the importance of being wise in dealing with all differences. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2022,” he said.
