BNI Net Profit Up 73.9 Percent in Q3

25 October 2021 11:38 WIB

BNI Bank building in Jakarta, March 25th 2021.

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned Bank Negara Indonesia or BNI recorded a net profit of Rp7.7 trillion in Q3/2021. This is a 73.9 percent (yoy) increase from over Q3/2020's IDR 4.3 trillion.

"The profit growth mainly came from the year-on-year increases of fee based income and net interest income by 16.8 percent and 17.6 percent, respectively," BNI president director Tumilaar said in a public expose, Monday, October 25.

During the third quarter, BNI noted excellent low-cost fund raising performance. The bank's current account savings accounts (CASA) was 69.7 percent of the total third party funds (TPF), said to be the highest in a decade.

The CASA growth resulted in a 10-bps savings in interest expense from the previous quarter. Meanwhile, operating income before reserves (PPOP) grew 21 percent.

The bank also recorded a net interest income (NII) increase of 17.6 percent to Rp28.70 trillion as the result of a 3.7-percent growth in credit distribution.
