BMKG: Rain to Shower Jakarta in the Afternoon, Evening

TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicted that several Jakarta areas will be showered by rain this afternoon and evening. In the morning, the weather was expected to be partly sunny to cloudy, while rain would likely shower the capital in the afternoon.

An early weather warning was also issued for parts of the capital in the afternoon. “Be aware of potential rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds in South Jakarta, East Jakarta, and West Jakarta in the afternoon and evening,” as quoted from the agency’s official page, Monday, October 18.

According to the weather forecast, West Jakarta and Central Jakarta will see light rain, while South Jakarta and East Jakarta will also see rain of moderate intensity in the afternoon. The weather in North Jakarta and the Thousand Islands will be partly sunny.

At night, rain is likely to occur in West Jakarta, Central Jakarta, South Jakarta, and East Jakarta with light intensity. The weather in North Jakarta and the Thousand Islands will be cloudy.

Most of Jakarta areas in the morning will be cloudy, except the Thousand Islands which has the potential for moderate-intensity rain.

Rain is also expected to occur in the capital’s neighboring regions, Bogor, Depok, and Bekasi this afternoon. Depok was predicted to be hit by thunderstorms on Monday afternoon, and light rain in other areas. Bekasi and Depok City will see light rain, while Bekasi Regency will have rain with moderate intensity.

The BMKG also issued early weather warnings for Bogor, Depok, and Bekasi. “Be aware of the potential for rain with lightning between afternoon and evening in Bogor Regency, Bogor City, Depok City, and Bekasi Regency, as well as in the early morning in Bekasi Regency.”
