TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan refused to comment on the plenary meeting on the interpellation over the Formula E motor race invoked by Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD). He said the interpellation process is the internal affair of the council.
“No comment,” said Anies in Ancol on Tuesday, September 28.
The interpellation right was invoked by the PDIP and PSI factions, requesting information from Anies regarding the international motor race which was deemed inappropriate to be held in the capital city during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In the agenda set by the council's consultative body (Bamus), the Governor was scheduled to provide an explanation on October 4, 2021.
“Let’s just see [what will happen],” he added.
Jakarta DPRD Speaker Prasetio Edi Marsudi decided to postpone today's plenary meeting on the interpellation because they failed to meet the required quorum of 50+1 of the total 54 legislators. The session was only attended by 25 legislators from PDIP and seven PSI politicians.
Jakarta DPRD Deputy Speaker from Gerindra faction, Mohamad Taufik, previously declared that seven factions opposing the use of interpellation against Anies Baswedan would boycott the plenary meeting.
