TEMPO.CO, South Tangerang - The beds for patients diagnosed with coronavirus disease or Covid-19 at the South Tangerang Hospital are now full. All 38 beds designated for patients with moderate and severe symptoms have been occupied.
“We have also prepared four ICU beds, and two of them are now occupied.” said the city hospital’s medical service unit head, Ronald Adrianto, in South Tangerang, Sunday, June 13.
Ronald said his side will recalculate the number of health workers following the rising number of patients treated there. “We will refer patients to other hospitals if we are full,” he added.
The surge in the patients’ number has begun two weeks after the 2021 Eid hospital. “At present, the bed occupancy rate of our hospital is above 60 percent,” said the hospital spokesman Lasdo on Sunday.
According to Lasdo, the figure is quite high compared to the number before the Eid holiday at around dozens percent.
“There is an extreme hike two weeks after the Eid holiday. There are about 30 and above patients [seek treatment in our hospital] per day,” he added.
According to Lasdo, due to the dramatic surge in the number of patients in the hospital, his side has opened up one more floor for the Covid-19 treatment.
