TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned Enterprises (SOE) Minister Erick Thohir said his side had prepared a barcode for each dose of the COVID-19 vaccine to ensure that the vaccine was injected into the right recipient.
“The SOE Ministry prepares a system, one of which is on how the vaccines have barcodes, so we can monitor the cars also until they reach the provinces safely. We hope that after arriving in the province up to remote areas, they will be well preserved,” said Erick at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Jakarta Building, Friday, Jan. 8, 2021.
Erick made the statement after meeting with Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin, KPK leaders Alexander Marwata and Lili Pintauli Siregar, KPK Prevention Deputy Pahala Nainggolan, Bio Farma CEO Honesti Basyir, and several other officials.
“Alhamdulillah, this is an opportunity for our country that we have a chance to improve our database system because of the vaccination program,” said Erick.
The database, according to him, will also be based on the citizenship identification numbers (NIK) at the Home Affairs Ministry given that the immunization will not be carried out just once.
“Next year, we must be vaccinated again, so like it or not, the data will be collected. We are very open and transparent. The KPK welcomes this system and assists the program to establish one pool of data even though the main player remains the Health Minister. The SOE Ministry and Home Affairs Ministry will support it,” said Erick Thohir.
