TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Head of the Covid-19 mitigation and national economic recovery committee (PC-PEN Committee) Airlangga Hartarto assures that the Food and Drugs Monitoring Agency (BPOM) has obtained the test reports of the Sinovac vaccine conducted in Brazil and Turkey.
“The emergency use authorization has been issued in Turkey and we have already received the study report from Brazil,” said Airlangga on Friday, January 8. The minister claims that the BPOM will soon issue its own EUA.
The BPOM will reportedly announce the authorization in a media briefing today.
Turkey previously reported that the vaccine efficacy rate was 91.25 percent for the CoronaVac after their third trial was completed. They claimed that it can potentially improve following an evaluation from the Turkish scientific committee.
Meanwhile, Brazil released a report on the experimental vaccine developed by Sinovac Biotech that recorded 78 percent efficacy against Covid-19.
