TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno on Monday established a partnership with the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) to oversee the government programs on national tourism and creative economy which he said will ensure better financial standard and management amidst the Covid-19 pandemic.
“We want to provide programs that help people survive, to help people who rely their lives on the tourism and creative economy sectors throughout the pandemic. But we must also follow the correct standards and financial management,” wrote Sandiaga Uno on January 4, 2021.
He revealed that his meeting with BPK - represented by BPK III member Achsanul Qosasi - had talked about several direct assistance for people working in the informal tourism sector.
“There are grants and other existing programs that have been executed well such as providing people with readily available food which is respectable,” said the newly appointed Minister following President Jokowi’s Cabinet Reshuffle.
Moreover, he believes that the Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry’s goal in 2021 upon attracting 7 million visits from international tourists will be achieved.
