TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Metro Jaya Police Chief Insp. Gen. Mohammad Fadil Imran reminded the public against celebrating the 2021 New Year's Eve. He gave a firm warning against violators and said there will be great legal consequences for people who insist on holding a party.

“People gathering in crowds will be taken by the Covid-19 hunters to the PMJ (Metro Jaya Police) field to be rapid-tested and swab antigen tests. And don’t worry, for those who are stubborn will have their motorcycles confiscated too,” said Fadli at the Metro Jaya Police headquarters on December 31. 

Along with the firm warning for the general public, he also warned police personnel to avert from using excessive forces or verbal abuses in imposing the Covid-19 operation.  

The Covid-19 hunters consist of 5,800 police personnel, three Military (TNI) battalions, and seven Brimob-level units with 700 personnel.
