Jakarta Police Chief Meets Komnas HAM Summon on the Shooting of FPI Members

14 December 2020 13:25 WIB

TEMPO.CO, JakartaJakarta Metro Police Chief Insp. Gen. Mohammad Fadil Imran met the summon of the National Commission of Human Rights (Komnas HAM) on the shooting incident of FPI members at the KM 50 of Jakarta-Cikampek toll road. The questioning was conducted in the Komnas HAM building on Monday, Dec. 14.

“The police chief will come on his own will,” said Metro Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Yusri Yunus earlier today.

Yusri explained that the Police Chief would explain the shooting incident at 1:00 p.m. However, he stopped short of detailing Fadil’s preparations for the summon.

Komnas HAM scheduled the examination on Fadil Imran today over the death of six FPI members, the bodyguards of Rizieq Shihab, who were shot dead by the police. Fadil would be grilled about the chronology of the incident.

Komnas HAM Commissioner for Investigation Choirul Anam said the agenda was part of the series of the ongoing investigation. He hoped the questioning would provide him a complete picture of the incident.

“We will summarize various findings through the construction of the incident. We will conclude the actual event, whether there are human rights violations or not. We will issue a recommendation,” Choirul added.
