TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Yet another mass protest against the passing of the omnibus job creation law is scheduled to be held by the ‘Jakarta Workers Movement’ today on Thursday, October 15, before it was cancelled.
The protest coordinator, Supardi, said that they initially intended to hold the protest in front of the Presidential Palace and Jakarta Industrial Estate Pulogadung (JIEP) in East Jakarta, but decided the former had to be scrapped.
“Today will only be held at the Pulogadung Industrial estate,” said Supardi to Tempo on October 15. “This was done to prevent unwanted events from happening and prevent a third-party from trying to redirect public opinion.”
Today’s mass protest comes after similar anti-omnibus law protests were held on October 8 and October 13.
