TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Attorney General ST Burhanuddin planned to call in the South Jakarta District Attorney's Office (Kejari) Head, Nanang Supriatna, who allegedly met with the legal team of a fugitive Joko Tjandra.
“No matter how basic the information is, I will clarify it to those concerned,” said Burhanuddin when contacted on Thursday, July 16.
He pledged that he will directly examine Nanang based on the procedure if the latter is found to have met with the fugitive’s legal team. “If it is true, an inspection will be carried out [by the Attorney Generals Office or AGO] according to the existing rules,” Burhanuddin added.
A video of a meeting between Nanang and Djoko Tjandra’s legal team circulated widely. The session allegedly helped Joko’s move to travel within Indonesia.
One of Joko’s legal team members, Anita Kolopaking, has not yet responded to Tempo's messages.
Joko Tjandra is a fugitive in the Bank Bali debt case. He reportedly evaded the immigration records when he entered and left Indonesia. He fled to Port Moresby of Papua New Guinea in 2009, exactly one day before the Supreme Court's ruling was issued.
