Jakarta Disburses IDR 131 B to Combat Coronavirus Pandemic

TEMPO.CO, JakartaJakarta provincial administration issued an instruction on the recalculation of the 2020 indirect budget spending for the 2020 Regional Budget (APBD) amounting to IDR 131 billion to fight the coronavirus pandemic.

The decision was noted in Jakarta Regional Secretary Instruction No. 24 of 2020 dated March 17, 2020. The funds were earmarked for the needs of the city's Health Service and regional working units (SKPD) related to the handling of the virus outbreak.

Based on the instruction, the funds aimed to finance a number of activities including the investigation of the disease outbreak (IDR 9 million), health services (IDR 6 billion), procurement of health service tools (IDR 33 billion), procurement of cleaning services and tools (IDR 89 million) and health promotion (IDR 12 million).

The city administration would also procure single-use medical supplies for the city (IDR 69 billion), Health Service Laboratory or Labkesda (IDR 229 million), Cengkareng Hospital (IDR 2 billion), as well as the provision of health services in Cengkareng Hospital (IDR 2 billion).

The budget was also allocated for the Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency amounted to some IDR 700 million, regional administration bureau worth some IDR 750 billion, and the procurement of infrastructure for household equipment and building security of Jakarta Smart City totaling IDR 250 million amid the handling of the coronavirus spread.
