Traffic Engineering Around Election Debate Location

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Metro Police's directorate of traffic will implement a traffic engineering around the Shangri-La Hotel, Central Jakarta, where the election debate between Joko Widodo or Jokowi and Prabowo Subianto to be held.

"We deploy 551 traffic police personnel," said the Police's chief of traffic operational Comr. Jamal Alam on Saturday, March 30.

Here is the information on the traffic engineering Tempo obtained from Jamal:

- From Jalan Sudirman, vehicles are forbidden to turn left to Jalan Karet H. Abdul Jalil. The drivers are directed to go straight

- Vehicles from Jalan Karet H. Abdul Jalil heading to Jalan Jenderal Sudirman cannot turn left to BNI traffic lights

- Vehicles from Jalan Galunggung cannot enter Jalan Sudirman. Drivers will be directed to turn left to Jalan Setiabudi Tengah

- The one-way policy will also be implemented on Jalan RM Margono Djodjohadikoesoemo; from Jalan Penjernihan 1 to Jalan Galunggung

The Jakarta Metro Police deploy at least 5,000 joint personnel to conduct a security measure around the debate location, spread in four rings. A police patrol would also be carried out throughout the jurisdiction of all Jakarta Resort Police to prevent unwanted event during the debate.

The fourth presidential debate will only have the presidential candidates; Joko "Jokowi" Widodo and Prabowo Subianto. The debate's theme will be focused on ideology, government, security, and defense, as well as international relationships.
