Tempo Presents Brompton Anti-hoax Cycling Event Covering 40 Km

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Info Media Digital or Tempo.co is set to hold a casual cycling event titled "Gowes Brompton Antihoax" on Saturday, March 30.

According to Info Media Digital director Burhan Sholihin, the event was held based on Tempo’s eagerness to spread positive values to the public, i.e. a healthy lifestyle.

“We [cycling enthusiasts] want to spread goodness and not hoax-infested messages,” said Burhan on Friday, adding that hoaxes had been rampant ahead of the 2019 presidential election.

The Brompton cycling event also sought to campaign for road-safety and bring awareness on the rights of cyclists on public roads.

“We also hope the government will pay more attention to cyclists on bicycle lanes,” he said.

The morning cycle on Saturday will include group-cycling from Tempo's office in Palmerah to Semanggi–Sudirman–MH Thamrin–Kota Tua. From Kota Tua, cyclists will move to Lapangan Banteng and return to Tempo's headquarters. This route will cover about 40 kilometers.

To date, a total of 620 people have registered for the Tempo.co event, comprising employees from and around the capital—including those from state-owned weapons manufacturer PT Pindad, PT Nindya Karya, and state-owned aircraft manufacturer PT Dirgantara Indonesia.
