TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Tempo.co won the Hackathon of Jakarta Editors Lab 2018 against 12 other participants. This event themed "Covering the Election" was held at Multimedia Nusantara University, Serpong, South Tangerang, on 9-11 March.
As many as 13 media and universities involved in this media creativity competition established by the Alliance of Independent Journalists (AJI Indonesia) and the Global Editors Network. Tempo.co team proposed a website to ease young people choose regional heads.

Sadika Hamid (journalist), Riky Susanto (programmer), and Sunardi (App designer) represented Tempo.co team carrying a LeaderMatch project, a responsive website that allows millennials generation to find political candidates that best fit their beliefs, interests, and political trends in an interesting way.
"We adopted the way dating apps like Tinder which popular among young people to find a partner, by swiping to determine the candidate that best matches to voters' political interests and views," Sadika said.
"We hoped, with this tool, young people able to make better decisions before choosing their leaders and quickly find out who will fight for what they believe in. We provide a quiz, but its display and presentation is different to other participants," Sunardi added.
The winning is the second time for Tempo. In 2016, Tempo won Jakarta Editors Lab and awarded as the world champion of Editors Lab.
Jakarta Editors Lab 2018 gathered media workers to develop innovative journalism prototypes in the election news as to attract people interest to the information provided. As the champion, the Tempo.co team will go through the Final Editors Lab in Lisbon, Portugal, May 2018.
