Gojek's Expansion to Bangkok, GET, Positively Received

The inauguration of GoJek's Thailand version, GET, in Bangkok, Wednesday, Feb. 27.

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - App-based transport service provider Gojek officially expands to Thailand marked by its launch at the country’s capital of Bangkok on Wednesday which will be known as GET.

The introduction of one of Indonesia’s Unicorn was attended by Communication and Informatics Minister Rudiantara and Indonesian Ambassador to the kingdom of Thailand Ahmad Rusdi.

GET will offer a wide range of two-wheeled services from package deliveries and food delivery service, GET-FOOD, after it introduced the beta version at the end of December last year. It has now expanded to 80 percent of the city’s areas.

GET Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer Pinya Nittayakasetwat announced the success of completing two million trips in the two months since its beta release in Bangkok. This, said Pinya, proves the high demand for its services.

There are currently three services offered by GET, namely GET WIN, GET DELIVERY, and GET FOOD.

Gojek CEO and Founder Nadiem Makarim said he was appreciative and glad to witness GET realizes its vision in Thailand. He previously mentioned that GoJek's international expansion is meant to bring positive and significant impacts not only for Indonesians but also for the international community especially ASEAN.
