TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Metro Police continue to examine the suspect Bahar bin Smith despite the Islamic cleric has been detained by West Java Police.
Jakarta Police Special Crime Director Sr. Comr. Adi Deriyan said investigators would visit the West Java Police to investigate the lecturer.
“We will head there [West Java Police]. He [Bahar] is summoned, but we will come [to him],” Adi told reporters in Jakarta Metro Police Headquarter in Central Jakarta, Wednesday, December 19.
The case handled by the police of the capital city, Adi ensured, is different than the case ensnared Bahar in West Java Police.
Earlier, Cyber Indonesia chairman Muannas Alaidid filed a police report to Jakarta Metro Police on November 28, 2018, against Bahar over the latter’s speech.
Muannas considered Bahar bin Smith insulted President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo during his sermon in the closing session of Maulid Arba’in on January 9, 2017, which was held in Ilir, Palembang, South Sumatra.
