TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has once again arrested a State Official in Cirebon Regent Sunjaya Purwadi Sastra in the agency’s notorious sting operation (OTT).
“It is confirmed, there was an [OTT] at Cirebon. There was a regional head that we apprehended,” said KPK Chairman Agus Rahardjo in a press release on Wednesday, October 24.
Little information has been leaked out to the public since Agus refused to elaborate the case incriminating the Cirebon Regent.
“We still need to study the case. We’ll explain it in our press conference tomorrow,” said Agus Rahardjo.
Sunjaya is the Cirebon Regent for the 2014-2019 period, who is paired with Tasiya Soemadi as his deputy. Both were backed by the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) in the region’s 2013 election.
