TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo visited the evacuation site of Lombok earthquake victims in Madayin Village, East Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara on Monday, July 30.
An official release from the palace stated that the President wants to ensure that the disaster mitigation activities are being carried out well and quickly.

The Deputy for Protocols, Press and Media Sector Secretariat of President Bey Machmudin, said in the release that the president wanted to ensure that all help services are available for the refugees, including basic needs, medics, logistics, as well as emergency education facilities.
An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.4 on the Richter scale hit Lombok, Bali and Sumbawa on early Monday morning, July 29. At least three sub-districts are recorded to have suffered heavy damages because of the quake; Sambelia, Sembalun, and Bayan.

As of Monday evening, the disaster had taken 16 lives and affected 500 families.
President Widodo visited the refugees accompanied by First Lady Iriana Widodo, Public Works and Public Housing Minister Basuki Hadimuljono, The Presidential Staff Chief Moeldoko, and West Nusa Tenggara Governor TGB Muhammad Zainul Majdi.
