TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President of Colombia Juan Manuel Santos Calderón, for his determined efforts to bring the country's more than 50-year-long civil war to an end, is granted a Nobel Peace Prize Award which the ceremony will be held on Saturday, December 10th, in the Oslo City Hall, Norway.
The Embassy of Indonesia in Colombia, as a symbol of support for the efforts of the National Government to achieve peace, through its Ambassador Trie Edi Mulyani, joined the recognition with the delivery of "The Gong of peace", a symbol of 2 meters in diameter and 125 kilograms of weight in which the flags of 202 countries of the world and symbols of 9 religions are exhibited.
In the middle part there are the inscriptions of the 'World Peace Gong' in both in its original language (Indonesian) and English, separated by two white flowers symbolizing the beauty, prosperity, and harmony.
Several gongs have been built for its permanent exhibition; try to multiply its message on the world peace and brotherhood for all of the mankind in countries such as Ukraine, China, Mozambique, India, Laos, Hungary, and Croatia, among others.
In Colombia, the Gong will be located in Jarillón del Lago Sochagota, in the Municipality of Paipa, in recognition of the historical role of Boyacá in the independence of Colombia.
In addition to the Ambassador of Indonesia in Colombia Trie Edi Mulyani, the event will also be attended by the Director for Asia, Africa and Oceania of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, José Alfredo Ramos, the Mayor ofPaipa, Yamit Hurtado; Boyacá Police Commander, Colonel Juan Rodríguez, councilors, social leaders and municipal and departmental entrepreneurs.
