TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The devastating 6.4 Richter scale earthquake that hit Pidie Jaya, Aceh, on Wednesday morning, December 7, 2016, did not escape President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo's attention during his visit to Nusa Dua, Bali.
In addition to instructing his Presidential Chief of Staff Teten Masduki to check the conditions on the disaster location, Jokowi also spared his time to lead a prayer dedicated to victims of the disaster.
"We send our prayers to the people of Aceh, especially the people of Pidie, so they can stay patient, tawakal (surrender to God), and rise again strongly to build the future," Jokowi said at Nusa Dua, Bali, on Wednesday, December 7, 2016.
Jokowi said that the prayer is also dedicated as a message to the victims of that they are not alone. Through this prayer, the President said, he will support the victims and the people of Aceh in going through the aftermath of the disaster.
The collective prayer involved 500 business people that were present in the Tax Amnesty Socialization event held at Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center.
