TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A number of residential areas in Bekasi, West Java, were innundated due to high rain precipitation that has been pouring for more than five hours in the area.
"Water got into the house at 3 in the afternoon. It went up to my angkle, but outside it’s up to my calf," a resident of Duta Kranji complex, Kranji subdistrict, West Bekasi, Kurnia (29) on Saturday (29/10).
Water channel in the areas was clogged by trash and was silted up, as a result, the areas were flooded.
Such situation of the water channel has also caused hundreds of houses in Narogong complex, some houses in Rawalumbu complex, and houses in Bekasi Permai complex in East Bekasi inundated.
Despite the situation, Bekasi Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) have not published any statements since they are still mapping the inundated areas.
