TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Cmr. Hasbi Ibrahim, Deputy Chief of the West Jakarta Police Traffic Division said that Ricky Agung Prasetya, driver of the Toyota Fortuner that was involved in a deadly accident on Jalan Daan Mogot, was driving at a high speed before crashing into 30-year-old Zulkahfi Rahman's motorcycle.
"After being interrogated, [Ricky] confessed that he was doing 99 to 100km/h," Hasbi said in Jakarta on Monday, February 8, 2016.
Hasbi said that Ricky was driving under the influence of alcohol. Previously, Ricky and eight of his friends were just got out of a karaoke in Kalijodo, Angke, where they ordered and drank nine bottles of beer.
"Their urine samples in Cengkareng General Hospital showed no traces of narcotics, but the driver admitted to have drink beer," said Hasbi.
After ramming the motorcycle, the car then swerve towards the left and hit a traffic light. The car then flipped, and landed at a 90-degree angle.
The accident killed four people, two motorcycle rider by the name of Zulkahfi Ramhan and his wife Nuraini (23 years-old), along with two of the car's passengers, Evi Raini and Tatang.
Ricky is charged with Article 310 (4) of Law on Traffic and Road Transportation with a maximum sentence of six years imprisonment.
