TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Police suggested the city administration to include a requirement to install close circuit television (CCTV) in new building permit.
"The CCTV system will be connected with those at the Jakarta administration and the Jakarta Police," Jakarta Police chief Insp. Gen. Tito Karnavian said at his office on Wednesday, August 5, 2015.
Tito explained that CCTV installations would be important to monitor streets in the capital. He hopes the plan to procure 6,000 CCTVs and to establish a command center would be realized.
Earlier on July 27, 2015, Tito and Jakarta Governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama held a meeting discussing a plan to procure 6,000 CCTVs and to establish Jakarta Police command center.
"The plan is expected to be realized next year," Tito added.
