TEMPO.CO, Saint-Denis, Reunion- A volcano erupted on Friday on the remote Indian Ocean island of Reunion where beachcombers found a piece of plane wing believed to have come from missing Malaysia flight MH370, reports said Saturday, August 1, 2015.
The government of the island, officially a part of France lying to the east of Madagascar, imposed a ban on access to the Piton de la Fournaise volcano, including by helicopter, after an eruption at 1000 a.m. local time.
Malaysian Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Abdul Aziz Kaprawi in an interview said the eruption resulted in delays in their team arriving at the discovery site. "They have not reached Reunion. They have to transit in Hong Kong and will arrive there on Saturday night, "he said. Malaysia sent a three-person team in charge of analyzing the region and other debris on the beach.
Since the discovery of part of the plane, local islanders increasingly interested in the finding other objects in places of the discovery such as a suitcase, a bottle of water from China, and cleaning products from Indonesia. Of the 239 passengers are citizens of China and Indonesia in the plane that disappeared when flying to Beijing on March 8, 2014.
Australian Transport Safety Bureau Chairman Martin Dolan, who led the search MH370 said it is unlikely that the suitcase had come from the plane. "From what we understand so far, there is little reason to be sure about this suitcase," he told the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.
He said the suitcase had no signs that it was in water for a long time, however he added that the suitcase will be thoroughly checked.
