TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Islamic Youth of the Cut Meutia Mosque is set to held the Ramadhan Jazz Festival on June 26 to June 27, 2015. The event will be held on the courtyard of the Cut Meutia Mosque in Menteng, Jakarta.
"This is how we attract young people to love and think that holding activities in mosques is 'cool'," said Agus Setiawan Basuni, initiator and art director of the event in a press conference on Monday, June 15, 2015.
Agus said that several renown jazz musician, including Lantun Orchestra, Rieka Roeslan, White Shoes and the Couples Company, Emerald Rio Moreno, Beben Jazz, and Abenk Alter, will perform in the event. Agus added that each musician will perform a religion-themed song with a jazz arrangement.
The Ramadhan Jazz Festival is an annual event that has entered its five consecutive year. Five thousand visitors is predicted to be present in the event.
