TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Trade Attache of the Indonesian Embassy in Canberra has formed a coalition of national promotion (Koalisi Promosi Nasional - KPN) to help accelerate export targets by 300 percent in 2019. The embassy had initiated a motion to increase coffee export to Australia through the KPN program.
"Our target is [to increase export volume] by three times," Trade Attache of the Indonesian Embassy in Canberra Nurimansyah said in a press release dated Monday, March 23, 2015.
According to Nurimansyah, chances of exporting Indonesian coffee to Australia are widely open. In 2014, coffee export to Australia have reached a total value of US$24 million (Rp 310 billion), or 14.68 percent higher compared to last year's US$20.9 million (Rp 270 billion).
Currently, Indonesian coffee had only managed to control 5.01 percent of the Australian coffee market share. Indonesia's coffee exports to Australia are dominated by unroasted coffee beans.
Other countries that have exported their coffee to Australia are Switzerland, Italy, Brazil, Germany, Colombia, Papua New Guinea and Vietnam.
