TEMPO.CO, Gaza - A United Nations group that provides humanitarian relief in the Gaza Strip, said that they have found rockets hidden by Hamas militants inside a vacant school on Tuesday, July 22, 2014. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) said that the rockets were found in between two other UNRWA schools, notably used to host 1,500 displaced Gaza residents.
"The agency immediately informed the relevant parties and is pursuing all possible measures for the removal of the objects in order to preserve the safety and security of the school," the agency said in a statement, as cited by Fox News. "UNRWA will launch a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding this incident."
The rockets discovery came after Israel Defense Forces (IDF) accused Hamas of Shijaiyeh in Gaza as "fortress for its weapons." Earlier on Sunday, the IDF released aerial photos of rocket launch sites inside Shijaiyeh. The pictures claimed that Hamas has launched rockets from inside and around a mosque, a hospital, a children's playground and a cemetery.
