TEMPO.CO, Tokyo – An earthquake in Chile is affecting Japan. According to the local media, a tsunami with the height of 40 centimeters hit the Iwate Prefecture’s harbor on the eastern shore of the Pacific Ocean on Thursday, April 3 2014, local time.
The tremor, measuring 8.2 on the Richter Scale on Tuesday night, April 2 2014, made the Japanese Meteorology Agency Japan issue a tsunami warning in the Pacific shore, starting from Hokkaiddo to Tohoku, and several area parts of Kanto, Izu Island and Ogasawara.
The mini tsunami also affected a number of areas besides Japan. Tsunami warnings have been issued in Nicaragua, El Savador, Costa Rica, Panama, and Colombia.
