TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Serena Williams is craving for more victories. Despite having been a part of the Women Tennis Association (WTA) for 19 years, the collector of 17 Grand Slam titles is yet to quit.
Serena is now in the race to exceed Chris Evert and Martina Navratiova's achievement in winning 18 Grand Slam titles, and Steffi Graf's record in achieving 22 victories. She will strive for another victory in the series opener of the Australia Open at Melbourne Park, January 14.
Last year, before her world domination, Serena failed in the Australia Open due to an injury. However, her near-flawless campaign last season asserts that this not-so-young tennis player will win WTA Championships and bolster her status as the oldest number one player in the world.
