TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The suffering of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip due to Israeli constant bombardment has been ongoing for 100 days. Since October 7 last year, Israel has declared war on the enclave after the Hamas attack.
Despite worldwide cries for a ceasefire, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu continues to disavow calls to halt military operations in Gaza.
Demonstrations are held in many places in the world to call for immediate ceasefire such as Rome and Paris. In Washington D.C., United States, thousands of people condemned Israel's actions in Gaza.
Citing independent.co.uk, Netanyahu responded to this call in a statement, claiming that "No one will stop us, not the Hague, not the axis of evil, and no one else."
Benjamin Netanyahu claims Israel will not stop even when South Africa has accused it of genocide before the International Court of Justice.
According to NBC NEWS, Netanyahu said that he will pursue total victory, "until we achieve all of our goals: eliminating Hamas, returning all of our hostages, and ensuring that Gaza will never again constitute a threat to Israel."
In Gaza, the death toll continues to rise, with 125 Palestinians killed and 265 injured in the last 24 hours, according to Gaza health authorities. More than 23,000 have been killed in Israeli strikes and 60,000 injured since October 7.
More than half of the buildings in Gaza have been destroyed or demolished. A quarter of Gaza residents are facing starvation, while less than half of hospitals in Gaza are functioning partially. More than two-thirds of school buildings in Gaza are damaged.
One hundred days in on what South Africa's delegates in the ICJ claimed as a genocide in Gaza, Benjamin Netanyahu continues to shrug off calls for a ceasefire in the enclave.
