TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Batik Air is currently offering special tickets to popular routes in East Asia starting from Rp1.7 million to Rp3 million. Corporate Communications Strategic of Batik Air, Danang Mandala Prihantoro, said the details for the special tickets are Rp1.7 million to Guangzhou, Rp1.9 million to Chengdu, Rp2.1 million to Seoul, and Rp3 million to Tokyo.
"[The offer] lasts to September 15, 2023," Danang said in a written statement received on Monday, September 4, 2023.
The offer, Danang added, is Batik Air's attempt to popularize its flight network that will facilitate tourists and business actors from across Indonesia in Jakarta, Surabaya, Bali, Yogyakarta, Medan, Makassar, and Lombok to popular destinations in East Asia.
"With the expanded flight choices, Batik Air connects seven big cities in Indonesia to several major destinations in Japan, China, Hong Kong, South Korea, and Taiwan," he said.
Tourists and business actors could enjoy multi-city trips as one of the benefits of the multi-destination concept by Batik Air which allows the passengers to plan a more flexible trip. "[The passengers] could transit in Kuala Lumpur before resuming their flight to their destination," said Danang.
According to Danang, one of the most popular routes is the direct connection from Jakarta to Kunming and Chongqing in China. Batik Air serves a direct route of Jakarta-Kunming. To reach Chongqing, tourists from Kungming could board a bullet train for a faster and more comfortable experience.
The flights that connect Indonesia to popular destinations in East Asia are intended to create accessibility to appealing destinations for tourists and business actors.
For business actors, direct access to East Asia's business centers in Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Seoul, and Taipei eases their access to international contracts, trade, and investment, as well as new opportunities to network.
The strong flight connection from Indonesia to the popular destinations in East Asia also affects tourism in Indonesia. Foreign tourists have easier access to Indonesia with direct flights from Batik Air.
"Batik Air hopes to boost the development of the tourism industry in Indonesia and bolster the international relations," Danang concluded.
