TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Police head of Public Relations Sr. Comr. Argo Yuwono said the investigators were still examining the report on Bahar bin Smith.

“We are still in the process of clarifying with the plaintiff and other witnesses,” Argo said when contacted on Wednesday, December 5.

According to Argo, the police will hold an evaluation. The police will level up the status of the case if they find a criminal element.

The General Chairman of Cyber Indonesia Muannas Alaidid had reported Bahar bin Smith to the Jakarta Police on Wednesday, November 28. Two days later, the police requested clarification from Muannas regarding the report.

Muannas reported Bahar bin Smith based on the cleric's sermon recorded in a 60-second video during the Mawlid of Prophet Muhammad in Darussalam Satu, Batuceper, Tangerang, on November 17. In the footage, Bahar stated that Jokowi was a shemale and was on his period.

“Jokowi is the traitor of the nation, traitor of the country, traitor of the people! If you meet Jokowi, pull his pants off, he’s probably menstruating, seems like he’s a shemale,” Bahar said on the video.

Muannas also questioned Bahar’s statement, saying that the prosperous group in Indonesia was only foreign nations, while the native people were miserable. He suspected that there was a violation of Law No. 40 of 2008 concerning the Elimination of Racial and Ethnic Discrimination.

Muannas said Bahar bin Smith could face a sentence of more than 5 years in prison.
