Public Reminded to Not Reacting Emotionally to Quick Count Result

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Wiranto reminded candidates of the 2018 simultaneous regional head elections (Pilkada) and the public, in general, to avoid responding emotionally towards the numerous quick count results.
“We urge officials to remind the candidates, public figures, and members of the public upon avoiding being emotional, either the winners or losers, don’t be too emotional,” said Wiranto at the Indonesian National Police Headquarters today, June 27.
He further asked everyone to maintain the situation until the official count is completed.
“We urge the winners and losers to face the results with great noble attitude and democratically,” said the coordinating minister. Wiranto hopes that candidates will resolve issues, if any emerges, through the available jurisdictions.
Several pollsters have completed its quick count process for the 2018 Pilkada in numerous provinces. According to pollster Indobarometer, the Ridwan Kamil-Uu Ruzhanul Ulum ticket has dominated the election in West Java. Meanwhile, in Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo-Taj Yasin ticket got the most vote.
