TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chairman of the Functional Group Party Airlangga Hartanto said that President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo has discussed his preferred criteria for vice president for the 2019 Presidential Election with all leaders of government supporter parties. The action was taken to remove the notion of a special meeting with Chairwoman of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle Megawati Soekarnoputri.

"Of course the talks between the President and political party leaders were smooth. In addition to Megawati [Jokowi] also met with other party's chairperson" Airlangga said on Friday, June 15, 2018

Jokowi met with Megawati at the Bogor Palace on Tuesday, June 12, 2018. The meeting was suspected to be held to discuss the criteria and name of the vice president candidate who will accompany Jokowi in the upcoming presidential election.

Secretary General of PDIP Hasto Kristiyanto said that Megawati was only providing suggestions for Jokowi. Megawati also asked the president to contemplate on the people's aspiration.
