TEMPO/Subekti

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The head of Central Data and Information Agency Jakarta Arif Rahman said the salary of civil servants in Jakarta administration has the same standard as those in other institutions. "The salary of civil servants across Indonesia is the same, using the same PP in payment," Arif told Tempo on Tuesday, March 6.

Arif said the basic salary of civil servants referred to Government Regulation (PP) No. 30/2015 on the Seventeenth Amendment of Government Regulation No. 7/1997 on the Regulation of Civil Servants Salary. Based on the regulation, the basic salary of civil servant class IA of Jakarta administration with zero years of service is at Rp1,486,500. As for class ID, the salary is Rp2,558,700.

While for the lowest civil servants class IIA, the salary is Rp1,926,000 and the highest class IID is Rp 3,638,200. For the IIIA class with zero years of service, the salary is Rp2,456,700, while the highest class IIID is Rp4,568,800. The civil servant in the lowest class IVA is paid Rp2,899,500 and the highest class IVE at Rp5,620,300.

According to one of the administrative staff of Bureaucratic and Administrative Reform Agency for Jakarta Secretariat, Rakhmawati Susanto, the class level is not the same as civil servant position. Rakhmawati explained that there are three levels of civil servant position in Jakarta Provincial Government, namely administration, compilers, and analyst.

Rakhmawati mentioned herself in the IIIC class and worked as administrative staff. She is a new employee in Jakarta administration. Previously, she served for 16 years in North Maluku.

Rakhmawati appreciated The National Civil Service Agency (BKN) efforts to propose the increase of civil servant (PNS) salary in 2019. She said the basic salary increase is necessary since only few employee receives regional performance allowance (TKD) which is highly contributed to the income. "We can’t rely only on the salary," said Rakhmawati.
