Crack on Tendean Flyover Go Viral, Bina Marga Offer Clarification

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Bina Marga Road Agency head Yusmada promised to immediately refine the part of Tendean flyover that looks like cracks.
Yusmada explained that even though the part looks like cracks, it doesn’t mean it’s broken. "It is deigned to have gaps, not cracks," Yusmadasaid on Saturday (10/2).
Photographs of the cracks under Transjakarta lane flyover on Kapten Tendean Street went viral both on social media and chain messages onWhatsapp.
Yusmada went on by saying that two structures of girder box bridge attached are designed to not coalesce. "The gaps are technically called dilatation with expansion joint."
Yusmada continued that the lower part was filled by mixed concrete resulting in structure looking like cracks, but there is no damage to the structure. Yusmada urged people to cast aside their concerns. "The flyover is safe," he said.
