TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - An earthquake hits Jakarta and its surrounding areas on Tuesday, January 23, at 13:34. According to the Meteorological, Climatological and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the quake has a magnitude of 6.4 SR.
The BKMG site said that the epicenter was located in Lebak, Banten, with a depth of 10 kilometers. No tsunami warnings had been issued.
In Jakarta, the considerably strong quakes caused people who are in tall buildings to come running out from their offices.
