TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The East Java Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) today is summoning La Nyalla Mattalitti. La Nyalla will be inquired to explain his statement that he was asked by a political party to prepare billions of rupiah in order to be able to join the nomination of the regional head election.

"Today we will ask Mr. La Nyalla for clarification," East Java Bawaslu commissioner Aang Kunaifi said in Surabaya, Monday.

La Nyalla is the chairman of the East Java Chamber of Commerce and Industry. His summon is signed on January 12, 2018 by East Java Bawaslu chairman Moh. Amen.

The National Bawaslu stated that they will take action after the clarification process by its East Java office is completed, and decide whether or not they will summon and question the Gerindra Party chaiman Prabowo Subianto.

La Nyalla is a Gerindra cadre. He claimed to have been asked to pay Rp40 billion by Prabowo in Hambalang, West Java, to pay for his candidacy for the regional head election.

According to La Nyalla, the payment is a requirement to get Gerindra's recommendation to follow the regional head election in East Java.

La Nyalla said that he was required to pay the money before December 20, 2017 or else he would not get a recommendation from Gerindra to run in the election.
