TEMPO.CO, Surabaya - Four investors in Surabaya reported famous Islamic cleric Yusuf Mansur to East Java Police.
They reported him related to their investment to Condotel Moya Vidi, which was proposed by Yusuf Mansur and a catering businessman and a property consultant in Yogyakarta.
Sudarso Arief Bakuama, the legal council of the investors, said that Yusuf Mansur was reported on Thursday, June 15.
"We filed a report because Condotel Moya Vidi is not going to be built and the investors have no clue on what happened to the money they have invested," he said on Friday, June 16.
He explained that the investment began from an initiative of a catering businessman in Yogyakarta and a property consultant in Solo to build a residential area to be rented out in Yogyakarta in 2014. In order to get fund, they decided to involve Yusuf Mansur.
Through his company Veritra Sentosa Internasional (VSI), in which the name is now changed into Paytren, Yusuf Mansur offered an investment in the form of certificates. "Each certificate is sold Rp2.7 million," he added.
He estimated that more than 600 people take part in the investment. However, until 2015 Condotel Moya Vidi was not built, yet through his website, Yusuf Mansur declared that the investment for Condotel Moya Vidi in Yogyakarta will be allocated to Hotel Siti (hajj and umrah hotel) in Tangerang.
