TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - National Police spokesperson Sr. Comr. Martinus Sitompul said that his institution has considered issuing a red notice for Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) leader Rizieq Shihab.
According to Martinus, the red notice will be issued investigator holds a case presentation.
“The case presentation will decide whether a red notice is to be issued or not,” Martinus said on Tuesday, May 30.
Another option available for the National Police is to force Rizieq to attend a questioning as a suspect in relation to smartphone chats containing pornographic materials.
Rizieq is suspected of being involved in steamy chats with Firza Hussein, who has been named as a suspect prior to Rizieq. The National Police has summoned Rizieq for two questionings, which he failed to attend. According to Rizieq’s attorney, his client is currently visiting a foreign country.
Martinus added that investigators are still collecting information from other police institutions, including the National Police International Relation Division to decide whether Rizieq should be listed as a most-wanted person.
