TEMPO.CO, Poso - Two suspected terrorists were killed in a gunfight that took place on Monday, May 15, 2017, in Poso, Central Sulawesi between terrorist group East Indonesia Mujahidin and the Police's Tinombala Operation Taskforce.
“Yes, that's correct. A gunfight took place again in the northern coast of Poso,” a member of the Tinombala Taskforce, who asked to remain anonymous, confirmed on Monday.
In addition to two terrorist suspects, one of the members of the taskforce was shot. “The member is currently being evacuated,” he added.
Police confiscated an SS1 rifle and air rifle. Until this article was published, Central Sulawesi Police spokesperson Commissioner Hari Suprapto has not yet confirmed the incident.
Police are still huting down the rest of Santoso’s accomplices. Based on police records, there are still nine terrorist group members hiding in Poso. They are Ali Ahmad or Ali Kalora, Firdaus or Daus or Barok Rangga, Kholid, Askar or Jaid, Basir, Abu Alim, Qatar or Farel, Moh. Faizal, and Nae or Galuh.
