TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Director General of Budget at the Finance Ministry Askolani, said that the government is planning to increase the value of state investment in for the LRT (Light Rail Transit) project connecting Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang, Depok, and Bekasi.
"We will see if there has to be more state investment, maybe in 2018," Askolani on Friday, March 10, 2017.
Askolani said that the government has allocated IDR 1.4 trillion state investment for Adhi Karya, the company responsible for the development of the LRT, in the 2016 State Budget. In addition, another IDR 2 trillion has also been allocated for PT Kereta Api Indonesia to develop LRT in Palembang.
However, Askolani refused to mention the value of additional state investment that will be channeled in the future.
Askolani expressed his optimism than the plan to increase state investment for the LRT project will be approved. "We have to be optimistic because [the project] is for public interest and provide a good example," Askolani stated.
