TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Finance Minister, Sri Mulyani Indrawati, delivered her comment on Google's summoning by the Director General of Tax (Tax DG). "As I said, just meet-up with Google and we'll finalize [the tax calculation]," Sri Mulyani said on Thursday, January 19, 2017.

The Tax DG is scheduled to meet with Google on January 19, 2017, to discuss the company's tax arrears. Tax DG demanded Google to pay their overall tax arrears based on their Indonesian business activities since 2011. The Directorate General calculated that Google's revenue in 2015 had reached Rp 6 trillion with an added Rp 3 trillion penalty.

Director General of Tax Ken Dwijugeasteadi, said that Google will arrive at the Tax DG office at 3:00 PM Western Indonesia Time (WIB). Ken however, was reluctant to explain the details of the number of Google's representatives that plan to visit the office. "[We] invited many. I don't know how many will arrive, or who will arrive," Ken said.

The Tax DG summoned Google in order to verify the data which was obtained by their team of investigators. "We just want to confirm the data, whether it's right or not," Ken said, adding that he will not provide detailed information about the data.
