TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - After 22 years, the National Monument (Monas) will eventually be cleaned again in next May. Managing Director of Kaercher Indonesia Roland Staehler, who handled the clean-up of Monas, said that this activity involves 20 technician experts from Germany and Indonesia.
Roland explains there are two stages of cleaning on May 5th to 18th. First, on May 5th, they will begin to clean the bottom of Monas. The cleaning is by using Kaercher tools series number HDS 6/14 C, that produces high-pressure hot water.
"This product is easy to operate and mobile. Therefore, it is ideal for cleaning all bottom and corner areas of Monas," he said at City Hall. He promised not to use chemical solutions because it could affect the material of the Monument. After that, the team will gather the rest of the dirty water and dry the areas with Kaercher brush dryer series number BD 530 Ep.
Second, the cleaning of Monas neck as high as 132 meters, will be conducted on May 9th by three experts from Germany using the safety belt technology. Currently they are using a purifier tool that produces high-pressure hot water series number. The high-pressure hot water will come out from the machine through spray pipe which is easy to apply in low-pressure at the neck part of Monas.
As the climax of this activity, all Jakarta people will be invited to clean the surroundings of Monas along with the expert team from Kaercher on May 15th at 'Monas Fun Cleaning Day' with Kaercher event. This activity, according to Roland, is aiming to increase the society awareness to maintain, look after, and cleaning up their historical monument as Indonesian's cultural heritage.
